Classes for youth range from nursery age through senior high school. Age appropriate activities bring Bible stories to life through games, discussion, crafts, music, and devotionals. The preschool class uses a hands-on-approach to study the Word of God. The children listen to Bible stories and do a variety of creative activities. Older children learn about God, Jesus and the Bible in relaxed settings and through discussion, games and crafts the students apply the Bible lessons to their own experiences. Teenagers participate in lessons from all areas of scripture and relate them to the teen's everyday life at home and school. Prayer is also an important part of their class.
Youth Fellowship: Young people fifth grade age through senior high are invited to participate in Sunday evening activities. This fellowship provides for social time and recreation in a Christian environment with activities such as:
- Basketball
- Bowling
- Miniature Golf
- Progressive Dinners
- Snow Tubing
- Indoor and Outdoor Games
Our group assists in packing Thanksgiving baskets and serving as acolytes at Christmas. The youth plan and lead the worship service on Centre’s annual Youth Sunday. |
Vacation Bible School- For one week every summer Centre hosts Vacation Bible School - always a rewarding, fun-filled experience. All children ages 3 through those students entering 8th grade are welcome. Based on a different fun theme each year, children are involved in service projects, crafts, music, stories, games, skits and more. Lessons are learned from stories in the Bible and then transferred to use in everyday life. The children share experiences with the congregation during the worship service on the Sunday following VBS.
Camp Donegal: Centre has close ties to the week-long summer camp programs available for youth at Camp Donegal in Airville, PA. The congregation encourages youth to make camp part of their summer experience by assisting with the registration fee for campers from Centre. Camp brochures can be found on the tables in the back of the sanctuary. These brochures contain the camping schedule, camp descriptions and registration form. Additional information can be found on the camp's web site: www.campdonegal.org.
